Ezidebit Direct Debit Request Form
What is Direct Debit?
Direct Debit is a means of payment where you give permission to a company to collect an agreed amount of funds from your bank account or credit card. Your payments happen automatically once the timing, amount, and frequency for paying your bills are established.
Why has Extend implemented a Direct Debit system?
Direct Debit is the preferred method of payment for childcare fees because it provides a safe and convenient payment method for parents whilst improving our ability to provide the very best in childcare.
Why has Extend collaborated with Ezidebit?
Ezidebit Pty Ltd is a fully compliant Direct Debit Service. Ezidebit holds an Australian Financial
Services License (AFSL# 315388) and has a stringent set of compliance and quality assurance
measures in place. This includes service sponsorship by the Commonwealth Bank, membership in the Australian Processing & Clearing Association (APCA) and PCI compliant data storage and
encryption.
Why pay by Direct Debit?
Paying your bills by Direct Debit saves time and gives you the peace of mind to focus on other
things, without the hassle of worrying about forgotten payments. Ezidebit transactions are
cheaper than cheques, paying for postage, withdrawing cash over the counter, or utilising periodic payments. You do not need to do anything other than ensure your account has enough funds to cover the payment when it's due.
What if I don't have enough money in my account to cover the Direct Debit Payment?
If you do not have enough funds, the transaction will fail which requires additional administration and yields additional bank costs. Unfortunately, Ezidebit is unable to absorb these costs and applies an $8.80 fee for these failed transactions. If you have provided a valid mobile phone number, you will be notified of this dishonour via SMS (Short Message Service). Should this situation occur, you will need to contact Extend to provide an alternative for payment to avoid exclusion.
How do I sign up for Direct Debit?
You will need to complete and sign the Ezidebit direct debit request form when you Register your child and return to the Extend Head Office.
Will this give Extend access to my account?
No, Direct Debit does not give anyone access to your account. Direct Debit merely authorises
Ezidebit to request and process payments from your account as agreed.
Is it safe to pay my bills by Direct Debit?
Direct Debit is one of the safest ways to pay your bills; in fact, 85% of identity theft cases actually occur with offline transactions such as lost or stolen cheques, paper bills, or account statements (Javelin Strategy and Research). By paying with Direct Debit, you reduce your paper trail and the opportunity for personal information to be accessed.
What if I decide to change banks or credit cards?
You will need to complete and sign a new Ezidebit direct debit request form and return to the Extend Head Office with notification that you would like to update your direct debit details.
How can I reconcile a problem with a Direct Debit Payment?
Issues with Direct Debit are quite rare and are usually rectified immediately. Just contact Extend
and we will correct the problem. If for any reason Extend cannot resolve the issue, you can cancel your authority with Ezidebit (on 1300 763 256) or your bank.
